a few more vacation snapshots...

How I Spent My Summer Vacation...

splashing in the lake, playing in the sand,
eating ice cream alongside the docks, and, of course,
finding the perfect Christmas ornament to remember it all!

kayaks lined up along Lake Erie's sandy shores...
kids in a funhouse, having, well, FUN!

a 25,000 sq. ft. model train layout...
and you know how we LOVE trains!

the detail in the layout was amazing.
the circular stairs leading to the top of...
Marblehead Lighthouse

A great time was had by all, and next visit, we may spend a week
in one of the yurts available for rent!
Family...Fun...Making Memories...Laughing
It's the small & simple things that matter.

How does that saying go?
"It's not the years in your life,
but the life in your years that matters."

  1. I love lighthouses! Not too many around on the north shore, such a shame. This one is delightful, especially with that intricate staircase.

  3. Ah, Marblehead! Not sure if I ever went there? I can't remember... getting old, lol. A yurt sounds like it would be really fun to rent. :-)

Email me if you're interested in blogging for a country magazine. Grit magazine is always looking for good country bloggers online. You can go to Grit.com and click on Blogs at the top of their page to see who's blogging for them and what the various topics are about. Regretfully, there's no $ in it, but it's extra exposure for you, and of course then you could always put a link to your Grit blog on THIS blog.

You can email me through my blog - either through my profile or at the bottom of each post, there's an email link. :-)

  5. Hi again Mary,
I just read your comment on my blog and I wanted to say 'good luck' in getting your bathroom done. I'm so glad we tackled ours early this spring...at least if my sister comes out from England I won't be so embarrassed...it was terrible! I'm glad you're finding some inspiration for your future kitchen reno...one thing at a time though and if my hubby goes for building the porch...I'm not even going to mention the kitchen. I'll just paint the cupboards anyway and touch up what ever get's banged up when he does the ceiling and trim on the cupboards. I know I'm being impatient but what the heck! Have a great day tomorrow.
    Maura :)
