I had not heard about the rooster crowing to determine rain. I do watch the cloud patterns though. Am usually right on this when it is going to rain. I also have learned that the birds will start to fly lower to the ground before rain as well. I think it might have something to do with the barometric pressure.. I hate vinegar too, but my mom swore by it for washing walls in the Spring. Great article! Janice
