a peek at our week...

First, a heartfelt thank you for all of the kind words on my last post...we're missing Azzie and his sweet, gentle presence.

Sharing a few snapshots of what caught my eye in the last week...

the bell tower saved from an old church,

my poinsettia is turning red,

and my Christmas cactus is blooming.

and so it begins!

blue skies,

field corn growing,

a foggy morning,

beautiful sunsets,

a friend shared 6 gallons of fresh milk!

a drone spraying a neighbor's field...
times certainly have changed.

the sunset that was just before...

the AMAZING Northern Lights!

never seen in our area,

absolutely stunning,

and breathtaking.

Sending wishes for a good weekend...and a Hapoy Mothers’ Day!

    1. Truly - I went out not expecting to see anything and I gasped and put my hand over my mouth - they were that beautiful. Hoping to see them again tonight but so far nothing- wondering just how late I can stay awake!

  3. Happy Mother's Day! Another lovely post. But those northern lights stole the show, didn't they? We see them on occasion here, but it's always a treat and the night before last was no exception. I, too, was hoping I'd catch a glimpse last night as it was much clearer here than the night before but no luck. You captured some great photos! ~Robin~

    1. Hi Robin - you’re so right - I’ve never seen anything so beautiful- the colors! So lucky they came to Ohio - that’s a rare treat. Yes I looked last night too but didn’t see any - by 1:30 I was ready for sleep 😊 what a year so far - the eclipse and northern lights - so happy to have been able to experience them.

    1. Thank you for the happy wishes - I’m sorry I’m late, you celebrated in March – but I’ll send you happy Mother’s Day wishes across the miles! The kids cooked for me … it was fun to see them scurrying around the kitchen. Where I am is called Green Valley, and the area is flat – so I do get to see a lot of open sky which probably made it easier to see the amazing lights!

  7. Oh Mary, I'm sorry to read about Azzie. I missed that post, so I just went back and read it. It really is so incredibly difficult when we have to make that decision. Hugs to you, my friend.

Your photos are beautiful - and the northern lights....wow! I love the foggy morning one. The simple fog with the sun rising is always spectacular, isn't it? That drone photo does indeed show the change of times. It's incredible to think about what's to come (in some ways a good incredible and in some ways not, of course).

Hoping you had a lovely Mother's Day.

    1. Thank you for the kind words, Staci - I know you’ve experienced the same sadness. Those sweet four-legged friends certainly become a part of our lives

The northern lights were amazing – that’s the only word I can use as I have never seen anything like that. I think I told someone else, when I went outside I gasped it was just so beautiful. I like foggy mornings too, they seem just right for a slower place and some needed quiet. Sort of like rainy days – they never bother me, an excuse to read a good book or take a nap!

  8. Hello, my friend! Oh, those lights!!! How beautiful!!! We have not seen them here, so I shall enjoy the ones you shared. I hope you are enjoying spring in your beautiful part of our world. Have a cozy evening. Madison is cooking dinner tonight, so I am comfy on the couch!

    1. I was wondering if you could see the lights – they would’ve been so incredible reflected in the lake! Spring is slowly coming on, how can it be may already? A cozy evening sounds just right. What a blessing to have those great family dinners.💕
