fields of gold...
storm clouds gradually turning to blue skies...
later sunrises and lengthening shadows...
pumpkins at the roadside stands...
That's how the Midwest looks now...ready for fall.
We're certainly ready...it's been a very hot summer.
This morning the kids asked for hot chocolate (the
real kind), there was a light frost on the grass, and we even turned the heater on in the truck for the drive to school.
Brrr...
Do you see the changes where you live...crisp days,
an early-autumn palette, the sights & sounds that mark the changing of seasons?
Our furnace kicked on yesterday, and I actually was glad to hear it. I guess, though, I'm trading the air conditioning bill for the heat bill though! But bring on the fall anyway; I'm so ready for it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post. We are seeing changes very slowly here in western West Virignia. The temps are still quite high so no heater yet but I can't wait to get some pumpkins!!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!
ReplyDeleteSupposed to be warmer here in Ohio this week, but still cool nights. The leaves are dancing on the ground. Hay has been put up for the year. They are combining corn and soy beans. Hickory nuts are ready to fall.
Fall is coming! And I couldn't be happier.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures of your changing seasons. I'm afraid we haven't seen much of a change lately with temperatures in the 90's last week but tomorrow we are to only get up to 68 with sunshine. Maybe that will get us more in the fall spirit although the temperatures are to climb a bit next week. Oh well..at least we're still getting tomatoes! Enjoy your Sunday...
Maura :)
