two posts in one week?

A quick “howdy” just to say I have a new post over at MaryJanes Farm today. You can find it here:

Rural Farmgirl

A bit of snow this week, a splash of sunshine occasionally, and oodles of rain.

I have veggie and flower seeds tucked in my tiny greenhouse and I’ve been wielding a chainsaw (okay, 20V, a girl’s gotta be sensible!) and clearing some overgrowth.

Making plans - dreaming dreams - plotting  and scheming!

My thought for the day:

NEVER stop making wishes

Happy Thursday, friends!

  1. Oh...MY!!! Yes, yes, yes!!! That one's a beauty!! You wouldn't have to age the roof at all! Re the wisteria....you asked if it was too heavy. So far no...I have wisteria on one side and bittersweet on the other...and there's some old fashion roses kinda in between (that may get removed). My wisteria is maybe 5 or 6 years old? It has spread a LOT, but so far it has behaved, with a bit of trimming and training. I'm not fond of the runners it throws out on the ground (I seem to find all of them and trip). It likes to wind itself inside and crawl up the interior of the roof. But heavy? Not really. But remember, I live in Nod and our growing conditions are a bit brutal so that may be holding it in check a bit.

    1. Thanks for all the details Robin-I wasn’t sure if wisteria would pull down the sides because of its weight - but it’s so beautiful! Oh and bittersweet too - you’re reading my mind! And I had no idea it might spread to trip on - good to know. Ahhh I need a million dollars for a full-time gardener and an old-house contractor to make all my dreams come true! Take care - and thanks for all the inspiration!

  2. PS...this one looks like it hasn't been used in a long, long, time. I bet they'd be willing to part with it happily.

    1. Ok - I’m doing it this coming week - I’m going to knock on the door and ask! I expect tilted heads as I try to explain. But just maybe if I ask before plowing begins they’ll want it out of the way instead of plowing and planting around it. Will keep you posted!

    1. Hi Jules! Oh it’s a silly thing, but it makes me smile! It’s a little drier and sunnier here, so I’ll be outdoors more - oh how the time flies. Thanks for visiting, I’m sure your days are busy!

    1. The pretty magnolias were just about to bloom when the heavy frost came in - it seems to happen every year-sigh. It’s been a crazy spring for weather! It’s a small chainsaw so don’t be too impressed.😆 and thanks so much for the good Easter wishes, and for you as well!

    1. It seems like winter is really hanging on for some reason. Now don’t get me wrong, I love winter and when the heat and humidity of summer come, I am quite grouchy! I think everyone’s ready though to dig in the dirt, plant flowers, and then enjoy that first perfect tomato still warm from the summer sun. It will be here before we know it
