Thanksgiving week in the Midwest...

A few snapshots of what's happening around the farm...

a gorgeous sunrise,

and lovely sunset,

spying a vintage corn crib
sigh...

old-fashioned corn shocks,

November clouds above the water,

and a little pre-Christmas decorating on my old Hoosier cupboard.

And what else did Thanksgiving week bring us?
(wait for it...)

Let's pull back a little from Santa...
Are those N95 masks?

Why yes, they are! Thanksgiving week has brought us Covid!

Vaccinated - check
Boosted - check

I can truly say it's the worst I have ever felt. Sunday and Monday are a blur; however, I'm grateful to be bouncing back...pies are in the oven now and homemade bread and sage stuffing will be baking tomorrow morning.

And no, I won't be able to enjoy the heavenly aroma or savor the taste...what cruel Covid symptoms.

Really...a loss of taste and smell, and it had to be Thanksgiving week?

And so it goes...there's still the joy of watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade followed by the National Dog Show. I love tradition, and settling in with Bailey to enjoy both of those will make the day even better.

Ahhh snuggling with her stuffed pig and egg!

I'm so thankful for your friendships across the miles. Wishing you all a day of peace wherever you may be.

Oh no! So glad you are boosted. At least the duration should be shorter.
Oh, bless you. Enjoy the day as best you can.

Love your pictures!!!

So sorry about the Covid!!!

We had the first "Jab," and nothing since, except Flu Shots. These, we believe in, and have been having them for 30 years.

You had "Jab" and "Booster" and you still got Covid.....

Makes you wonder.....

Gentle hugs...

Oh no, I agree - what a terrible week to be ill. I hope you recover soon and I also hope you still manage to enjoy your Thanksgiving Day. I love traditions too, and think I need to drag some of them out of the cupboard and start them up again.
Get well quick, Mxx

I am so sorry to hear covid found you. I hope you are back to normal soon.
I love your sunrise and sunset pictures in the winter I try to make sure I see them as summer they are just too early.
I love your cupboard decorations also.

Thank you so much to everyone who took the time over their busy Thanksgiving week to wish me good health! You are all so thoughtful to drop a note and let me know you are thinking of me...I'm feeling better, but still testing positive so quarantine for now. But that's okay, it gives me time to turn up the holiday music and decorate! Thanks again friends, I'll be posting soon, Hugs, Mary

So glad you are better. Use the necessary down time, for just what is lovely, at this time of year.

Thank you for noting my Prince and Princess blogging. :-) And for saying how the *Spare Ones* can never hold a candle to them. Even with the silly Netflix stuff.

There they sit! In the lap of luxury! Moaning and crying! Come on you 2, "read the room." US and British economies are a mess. People are really suffering. And you expect ordinary people, to care about your Moaning and Crying?????????? Wake up!

Enjoy your Rest!!!!

Gentle hugs
