all systems go!

Doesn’t this photo just make you chortle, chuckle, even teehee?!

Winter has gifted us a real-life fairy tale, and this gal is looking about as joyful (and definitely fearless) as absolutely possible!

As for here, today all systems are go:

*Dishwasher water lines have thawed

*Clothes washer lines have thawed

*Propane delivered

*Driveway plowed

Happy dance all around!

Currently -19 at 9 am…hats off to the predictions from The Old Farmers Almanac - they were spot on.

Unashamedly still hibernating…planning to whip up some snow ice cream, testing out a 1903 bean soup recipe, enjoy making Jiffy Pop (does anyone remember that?) and settle in to watch a double-feature with my daughter.

I hope all is well where you are - I know the snow, ice, and frigid temperatures are again coming tomorrow for many of you - stay safe and warm.

  1. We are very cold as well . The high of 7. Loving the woodstove right now. Jiffy pop was a rare treat when I was a kid. Enjoy your movies.

    1. Oh what a chore with the propane company...and wow, what a fortune for a tank, the price has nearly doubled since last year. Highway robbery as they say. Ugh...warm here and being frugal with it. You stay curled up as well...what a winter it's been.

  5. Good Monday Morning Mary... Running behind and still attempting to catch up after a bout with the flu. Haven't kicked it yet, but think I'm finally getting the upper hand. I'm glad to hear your propane came through....but, yes, the cost is crazy. The propane company was out Saturday and filled all 3 of my propane tanks, two of which were very low. I dread to see the bill for that. And the fuel oil will be filled soon. Gulp. Hope you're warming up there by now and digging out. Love the unadulterated joy on that gal's face. And the photo of the "herb shovel" is wonderful!

    1. Hi Robin - hope you’re bouncing back from the flu - good grief - if it were me I’d just be in jammies all day and scary-faced makeup free. Take it slow - nothing needs done until you feel better. And oh that propane - THREE tanks!! Yikes one tank here was - gulp - $1400. Highway robbery. Bailey’s been a trooper in the snow - doesn’t seem to bother her at all! I am going to make her a silly hat, though today, she always comes in with cold ears!
